About

Hi There, I’m Anna!

I have always been someone eager to move and learn more about the abilities of our bodies. After going into dance at an early age, movement and control over the positioning of our bodies, has been something that has been ingrained in me created passion for the subject.

With dance comes the fair share of aches and pains, and often a few injuries (try as we may to avoid them). Through these experiences, I became exposed to the world of physical therapy and different forms of rehabilitation. So, when it came time to choose a career and a direction for life, there was a clear answer. There is nothing better than helping people heal in a role that utilizes my passions and personal strengths, physical therapy!

I chose to do my bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with a focus on physical therapy. Just for fun, I threw in Dance as an extra minor. I absolutely loved taking this path. Kinesiology is the study of the mechanics of human movement and how it impacts health and wellbeing. This department of study gave me the ability to see health and function in light of athletic performance as well as injury and rehabilitation.

While I was working toward my bachelor’s degree, I had several opportunities to try my hand at exercise programming, group exercise instruction, and working with clients one-on-one. This is what lit my fire for this world of exercise science, and led to my decision pivot my path toward becoming an exercise physiologist.

After I made this decision, I wholeheartedly threw myself into the work it would take to get there, and I was soon a Certified Exercise Physiologist through the ACSM. I graduated from undergrad, got married, and moved back the Cape Ann (MA) area.

But, never done learning, I then decided to pursue higher education in this realm of study, so I enrolled in graduate school for Exercise Science, and completed of my master’s degree in 2022.

I spent a few years working working at the Cape Ann YMCA, and loved every moment. The connections, community, and interactions I experienced daily are things that I hold close to my heart. During this time I worked with many wonderful clients, taught classes and seminars, and built up my love for exercise science and physiology.

I took a step back from work to welcome my baby boy into the world in 2024. He is the biggest joy, and my greatest accomplishment. Today, I am navigating the balance of motherhood and prioritizing enjoying every moment. My Physiology License is up to date, and my business cards are still in my wallet. I haven’t said goodbye to that side of my life, just put it on stand-by, for now.

If you would like to work with me, or have worked with me in the past, I’d love to hear from you! There is a contact form or my email on the contact page.
